ADMISSION PHILOSOPHY
The university admits students of any race, color, creed, and sex, regardless of national or ethnic origin or physical handicap.

Admission decisions are based upon both objective and subjective criteria. For applications to degree programs, the applicants' previous academic record is an important predictor of their ability to succeed at the study level. Previous work experience in the selected field of study may also be taken into consideration. Personal and/or professional letters of recommendation are included in the admission process for entrance into the master program. Finally, a personal interview with a college administrator is required of all applicants.

For diploma & training programs, applicants are more evaluated on their true interests and understanding of the goal of the programs they wish to enroll.


APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Students must contact the institution and obtain an application packet. The packet will contain the required application and forms needed for submission. The requirements for admission to each program is listed below:

Degree Program Admissions Requirements
I. Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) Program
Students desiring admission to the MSOM programs must meet the following requirements:
1. Have completed at least 90 quarter or 60 semester units of undergraduate course works from an approved or accredited institution, or an equivalent foreign academic institution. The undergraduate course works completed should have a cumulative g.p.a. of at least 2.50.
2.Submission of an application and application fee.
3.Submission of two letters of recommendation.
4.Submission of a statement or essay detailing why they wish to pursue the educational program.
5.
Applicants whose native language is not English must satisfy either of the following options:
a)submit a TOEFL score of 450
b) submit evidence (official transcripts) of having taken at least 2 years of education in a program where English was the language of instruction
c) submit a proof of concurrent enrollment in an ESL program to improve English competency level and pass TOEFL with a minimum score of 450 before beginning clinical training experience.
II. Master of Business Administration
Students desiring admission to the Master's programs must meet the following requirements:
1. Applicants must submit a copy of the bachelor degree diploma related to the business area from a recognized school. Students whose bachelor degree are non-business related must submit proof of undergraduate introductory courses completed in business management, economics, accounting and business statistics, each with at least 3 semester or equivalent units and a minimal grade of C or above.
2. Applicants must have a cumulative g.p.a. of at least 2.50 in their undergraduate course work completed. Official transcript(s) for all undergraduate course works must be sent directly from the corresponding undergraduate institution(s) to Kingston University Admission Office.
3. Submission of an application and application fee.
4.Submission of two letters of recommendation.
5. Submission of a statement or essay detailing why they wish to pursue the educational program.
6. Applicants whose native language is not English must satisfy either of the following options:
a)submit a TOEFL score of at least 450
b)submit evidence of having taken at least 2 years of education in a program where English was the language of instruction
c)show that they are enrolling or will enroll in an ESL program to improve English competency skill. Students can register for MBA courses after they achieve adequate proficiency in the English language.
Diploma & Training Program Admissions Requirements
Students desiring admission to the diploma & training programs must meet the following requirements:
1.Possession of a high school diploma or education background equivalent to postsecondary level.
2.Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
3.Submission of an application and non-refundable application fee.
International Student Admission
Kingston University is approved by the US Department of Homeland Security to enroll non-immigrant alien students who meet our general admissions requirements and also comply with the following requirements:
1. Submit evidence of having the financial resources to complete the academic program.
2. Comply with the laws, rules and regulations of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service.
3. Submit US$150 non-refundable foreign student processing fee in addition to the application fee for the program the student is interested in applying for. Checks from a U.S. banking institution and U.S. dollar traveler's checks are acceptable.
4. Official transcript(s) sent directly to the University.

*Students applying for the Master of Science in Oriental Medicine program are also required to obtain an official credit evaluation by a credentials evaluation agency for all course works completed at colleges or universities located in a foreign country to determine if courses taken abroad satisfy the requirements for admission to Kingston University. Students may contact the University's Admissions Office for a list of authorized credentials evaluation agencies and for further information.

International students are expected to comply with the regulations of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) in addition to those of Kingston University. An international applicant who wishes to accept an offer of admission to Kingston University may commit to full-time enrollment by rendering a deposit in US currency equivalent to the tuition and fees for one full quarter of study within 30 days of notification of acceptance.


ADMISSION PROCESS
Once the University receives all required documents and forms, the student's application file will be deemed complete and a decision by the Academic Dean's office will be made concerning the student's admission to the school.
Admission is granted to applicants who demonstrate the ability to undertake successfully study and meet the admissions requirements.

Admission decisions will be made within 30 days of receiving all required documentation. Students will not be admitted to the school without the required documentation and registration fees.

Students admitted to the Master's degree program will be required to pay a matriculation fee of $300 to reserve their enrollment in the school. Admission is granted for a period of one year.

If an applicant does not accept their admission or fails to matriculate after one year of acceptance, the applicant will need to go through the admission process again as a new student. This will mean that the applicant must submit a new non-refundable registration fee and an application and all required documents, forms and information required for admission to their selected program. Previous admission does not guarantee readmission.
